 Whether you’re the one driving the golf cart or trying for the longest shot, Hays Municipal Golf Course and Smoky Hill Golf Course are great places to socially distance with friends. There’s also an 18-hole disc golf course that winds through Frontier Park. Make some memories with your family while playing miniature golf at Precision Valley Golf Center.

4.     Pedal Along the Bicycle and Walking Path

Feel the wind in your hair as you cruise along the paved bicycle and walking paths. The Frontier Park Path borders the Larks Baseball Stadium, the Bison Park, and Fort Hays State University. It also crosses Main Street allowing for easy access to downtown stores and restaurants.

5.  Shop Farmers’ Markets

 The Downtown Hays Market is open on Saturday mornings at the Downtown Pavilion at 10thand Main May through October. You’ll find homegrown Western Kansas produce, farm fresh meats, pies, jellies, breads, and handmade items. The Fresh Produce Market is open Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings in the Orscheln parking lot throughout the summer months.

6.  Roam the Range with the Bison

The Hays bison herd has been around since 1954 and usually welcomes several babies each Spring. You can see a great view of the calves frolicking from the shade trees in West Frontier Park. Enjoy a picnic while watching these giants interact in a natural habitat.

Go on a guided tour of this state historic site, explore the grounds, and see original structures used by officers and soldiers. The visitors center houses artifacts, interactive displays, and souvenirs. In the evenings, enjoy one of the best places to see a big sky Kansas sunset.
