PLAY A ROUND OF GOLF
Challenge others – or yourself – to a round of 18 holes at the beautiful Hays Municipal Golf Course. Drive, ride, or walk the course, which is on land that was once part of the Fort Hays U.S Army post. Afterwards, cool off in the Pro-Shop with a beverage and relive the greatest – and not so greatest – shots.
DISCOVER SCIENCE AND NATURAL HISTORY
A scientific surprise awaits around each corner of the Sternberg Museum of Natural History. Watch the museum come to life with animated dinosaurs and live reptile exhibits. Traveling exhibits are showcased and changed out seasonally to visitors learning. While you are there, take time to explore the wildlife on the Dr. Howard Reynolds Nature Trail.
Open the door to historY
History buffs and families alike can explore the grounds and original structures of the Fort Hays State Site while listening to the military history of those who called the military outpost their home. Catch a sunset over the rolling hills or enjoy a picnic by the limestone bison sculpture chiseled by local artist Pete Felten.
RELAX IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Not all adventures require a hotel room. Sometimes the best times happen while sharing s’mores around the campfire at the Creek Side RV Park. Hays’ newest RV park has 41 pull-through and 4 shaded back-in full hookup sites as well as a playground and fenced area for dogs so everyone has a chance to relax and unwind.
