Cancer Symposium 2023 for Professionals in the Healthcare Field

Target Audience: Physicians, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, nurses, social workers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, & other interested healthcare professionals. This program is designed to improve the care of cancer patients including, but not limited to, Importance of Early Detection, Updates in Genetic Testing in Oncology, Updates in Radiation Oncology Treatments, Psychosocial Factors Affecting Cancer Patients.
Following this program, the participants can be expected to:
*Analyze the importance of early detection for cancer treatment success including breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, etc.
*Examine common barriers in early cancer screening.
*Analyze the importance of multidisciplinary care approach for cancer patients.
*Identify the difference in care for cancer patients in inpatient settings vs. outpatients settings.
*Examine the benefits of conducting genetic testing in caring for cancer patients.
*Examine updates in radiation oncology treatments including SBRT, hypofractionation, 3D radiation therapy, etc.
*Addressing the psychosocial aspects cancer patients & survivors deal with.
