Larks Park is home to the Hays Larks, an NCAA sanctioned summer collegiate league team, and the Fort Hays State University Tiger Baseball team. The facility is owned by the City of Hays but is leased to and operated by the athletic department at Fort Hays State University. The actual stadium has a seating capacity of 1200 but attendance at special “Pack the Park” nights will often bring in around 1800 fans that fill in around the perimeter of the ball field. The infield is Poligras that was installed new in 2003 and the outfield is bluegrass. In 2008, work was done to update the fence, billboard, scoreboard and the bullpens received a facelift. Beneath the stadium are the locker rooms, restrooms, training room and maintenance storage. This area was remodeled in 2010 with a new layout and amenities were added. Although Larks Park is considered a historic venue and is one of the oldest baseball facilities in the state of Kansas, with the recent renovations it can boast as one of the nicest baseball facilities in the region.
