Various trails along Big Creek wind through the park and join the Hays F.E.E.T Trail and F.H.S.U. Dike trail system. The Frontier Park Nature Trail is approximately 1 ½ miles in length and was established by the Hays Rotary Club in 2011. Signage along the trail provides interpretive information about wildlife and identifies trees, shrubs, grasses and historical points of interest. Frontier Park also features several bridges across the creek, four large park shelters, playground equipment and 89 acres of scenic recreational use areas.
